Carbohydrate Breath Testing
Carbohydrate Breath testing for both methane and hydrogen allows for accurate detection of carbohydrate intolerance. Lactose, fructose and sucrose intolerance can present with symptoms similar to IBS. Lactulose or glucose are used to test for bacterial overgrowth.
H.Pylori Breath Testing.
The H.pylori test is a simple quick breath test used to diagnose H.pylori infection.
Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) is a bacterium (germ) that lives in the stomach. It causes a chronic low-level inflammation of the stomach lining and is strongly linked to the development of intestinal and gastric ulcers. H. pylori germ is responsible for most intestinal ulcers and over two-thirds of stomach ulcers. It also triggers symptoms like indigestion. Most people infected with H. pylori never develop ulcers.
Capsule Endoscopy “pill cam” allows for examination of the small intestine indications include anaemia and bleeding.
